(Global Forum Latin America – Businesses, Universtities, and Society in a sustainable world.)

From June 18-20, Brazil and Curitiba will host the Global Forum Latin America, which will bring together business people; executives; leaders of the education sector, government, and civil society; and multilateral agencies, to discuss and rethink the role of business education with focus on sustainability. The purpose is to find ways of enhancing academic curricula and arouse new awareness by introducing a new development perception.

The first Global Forum was held in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2006. One of the results of the conference was that the Global Forum should have new, regional editions. Brazil was appointed to host the first Global Forum Latin America, thanks to its experience in hosting BAWB conferences, the movement that gave rise to the Global Forum.

Curitiba, known as Brazil’s “Ecological Capital” and is also described in specialized magazines as one of the country’s best capital cities for doing business, was chosen to host the three-day event. The Global Forum was organized by the Federation of the Industries of the State of Paraná, through Sesi and Unindus, with the support of Case Western Reserve University (USA), GVces (Getulio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo), and IPD – Development Promotion Institute.

“We hope that by holding an event of this magnitude we will be able to align the professional profile of business graduates with the needs of an increasingly globalized market”, says Rodrigo da Rocha Loures, Fiep’s president.

Online registration will last until June 11, at www.globalforum.com.br. After that date, registrations will be taken at the venue of the event, provided there are vacancies.
