Paraná will be Home to a Permanent Development Forum 2009-12-11
The Forum results from discussions held during the Future 10 Paraná Forum held in 2005 Last Friday (11) the Future 10 Permanent Paraná Forum was launched in Curitiba as a spinoff from the Future 10 Paraná Forum held in 2005 a joint initiative of the Paraná Communication Network (RCP), the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná (Fiep), the Development Promotion Institute (IPD), and other business institutions. Leaders from several federations and trade associations from the state of Paraná also participated in the meeting to discuss strategic perspectives for the state’s development. “Fiep plays a strategic role in involving and mobilizing the whole of society in favor of development. We cannot consider only one development agenda for Paraná; on the contrary, several agendas are needed, all of them capable of activating projects across all regions,” remarked the Federation’s president Rodrigo da Rocha Loures, who also attended the meeting. According to the coordinator of the Permanent Forum’s Executive Council this is a new phase in the organization of the state’s society. “We can go further if we get organized. We have a set of guidelines and strategies in hand which reflect our leadership‘s dreams for all of Paraná. Now we must start acting on them,” he said. The work initiated in 2005 will be continued in 2010, including regional meetings that will convene the key community leaders to develop projects based on the strategic perspectives. The Fiep System will be charged with developing and implementing the Appreciative Inquiry methodology during the meetings. “We must use these data to leverage social networks in support of the state’s development, in addition to strengthening associations, entrepreneurship, and innovation,” pointed out Rocha Loures, also emphasizing that development will be achieved only through political change, that is, politics geared to the public interest rather than catering to political parties. Also participated in the Forum representatives from Paraná’s Trade Association, the Federation of Trade Associations and Entrepreneurs of Paraná (Faciap), the Federation of Agriculture of Paraná, the Engineering Institute of Paraná, the Development Promotion Institute (IPD), Ocepar, the Pro-Paraná Movement, SEBRSE, and Fecomércio.
