Six Brazilian Exporting Organics Companies Exhibit their Products at Biofach America

2009-09-17

From September 24 - 26 in Boston, USA, six Brazilian companies linked to the Organics Brasil Project will exhibit their products at Biofach America, the most important organics trade show in North America. The companies Beraca, Cana Spirit, Latinex, Native, Surya, and Tribal will share Brazil’s booth as a way of increasing their share of the American market and strengthening the image of quality attached to Brazilian organic products.

Native, the world’s biggest organic sugar producer will launch their Native Biodynamic Sugar, certified by Demeter, in 1-kg packages and 6-g sachets and introduce the full-fledged Native line to several distribution companies. Fernando Vazela, Native’s foreign trade supervisor explains the company’s strategy: “we export approximately 22 thousand tons of organic sugar, including bulk and retail products to the US, where our strongest point of sales is the Whole Foods Market chain. Our goal is to maintain the growth of retail products exports to the US, especially organic and Demeter biodynamic sugar. For such we have hired a company specializing on how to introduce new brands in the American market (Vantage Organics International – Bolder, CO, 888 483 0444 x 1)”

For Ming Liu, executive coordinator of Organics Brasil Project, the worldwide economic crises has had little adverse impact on the organics business in Brazil, and the second semester at the Biofach trade shows (America, Japan, and Latin America) is very promising. “It’s time to invest on image promotion to enhance the visibility of Brazilian organic products.”
